No Matter How Old He Gets

Men can be difficult to shop for. Rather than getting your Dad something this FatherĄŻs Day that will collect dust in the back of his closet, get him something he will use and enjoy for years to come. Here are some great FatherĄŻs Day gift ideas for the auto enthusiast.

?10) Vehicle Detailing

Fatherhood is a messy job. YouĄŻll be hard pressed to find any parent whose vehicle couldnĄŻt use a good once over to clean up crumbs and remedy sticky surfaces. A thorough detailing is a great gift idea for Dad that wonĄŻt cost too much and will make him feel like a king.

?9) Exotic Car Experience

Few people can say that they have been fortunate enough to experience a Ferrari or Lamborghini on a racing circuit, but there are many ?local companies that can turn that dream into a reality. Just google exotic car experience to find one.

?8) Subtle Suit Accessories

If your old man is the kind of guy who wears a crisp suit rather than neon NASCAR t-shirts or tacky ties, how about keeping it classy with a tie clip or cool cufflinks. Zazzle.ca offers a selection of auto-inspired options including shift gates, speedometer and tachometers that add some character without going over the top.

7) Socks

The clich¨Ś pair of boring old socks may be the traditional default FatherĄŻs Day gift that immediately go into the drawer never to be seen or worn again, but buy your Dad a set of automotive themed socks like ones with ĄŽGasĄŻ and ĄŽClutchĄŻ on them and heĄŻll wish he had a pair for every day of the week.

6) Money Clip

Rather than carrying around a bulky leather wallet that will stretch his pant pockets and harm his posture, how about buying your Father a carbon fibre automotive-inspired money clip to hold onto what little money he has left after having children.

5) Automotive Art

From Frank Bullitt and Dom Torreto to Michael Knight, James Bond and even Randall Ą°MemphisĄą Raines, Displate.com features creatively designed and crafted metal signs that will appeal to any automotive enthusiast.?Type in Ą°carsĄą or other auto-related themes on their site to get the coolest automotive designs.

4) Racecar Office Chair

You can rationalize that with the long hours spent at his desk, your fatherĄŻs health and posture will be improved with an ergonomic and supporting chair in his office or den. But in reality, having a racecar seat office chair is just pretty much the coolest office accessory you can have.

3) Model Cars

No matter how old he gets, every man is still a little boy at heart. You may not be able to buy him the car of his dreams in full scale, but you can likely afford a miniature model version that he can enjoy until his lottery numbers come in.

2) Key Chain

You could go the traditional route and buy a key chain with the logo of the vehicle your Dad drives, or get creative with pistons, tow straps, spark plugs and turbos.

1) Classic Car Movies

The best gift you can give to the man who raised you is something that allows you to spend time you can enjoy together. Films like Le Mans, Grand Prix, Bullitt, Gone in 60 Seconds or Vanishing Point feature cars as the stars.

Hey, I Said ItĄŻs Subjective, Right?

While going fast in a car is an easy thing to do when money is no object, that doesnĄŻt mean one needs to spend a small (or large) fortune to do so.

Listed here are 11 cars with starting MSRPs under $100,000 that are blindingly fast, yet donĄŻt come with an acquisition cost that will have you going broke in the process.

Now donĄŻt get me wrongĄŞthese cars arenĄŻt cheap (some barely made the $100K cutoff), but theyĄŻre all fast and powerful and thatĄŻs the name of this game.

Before diving in, a few caveats:

One, eligibility is based on MSRP before extra charges such as freight, PDI and applicable taxes.

Second, this list is somewhat subjective as figures listed reflect data supplied by the manufacturers, not performance testing conducted by Wheels.ca. With that in mind, the cars are listed in alphabetical order and arenĄŻt ranked in terms of outright speed and performance.

Third, getting on the list isnĄŻt just about sheer torque and horsepower or 0-100 km/h times and top speed, but rather a combination of all those things.

Hey, I said itĄŻs subjective, right?

Finally, this list isnĄŻt exhaustive ¨C there are other fast cars under $100,000 out there. But to keep the list at a reasonable length, IĄŻd had to pare it down a bit. With that in mind, IĄŻm including a few honourable mentions that also meet the criteria laid out here.

Without further ado hereĄŻs the list:

In 1928, The Company Acquired CanadaĄŻs Dodge Bros

FCA Canada (formerly Chrysler Canada) marked its 90th anniversary June 17 at a special celebration on the banks of the Detroit River and steps from its Canadian headquarters.

Employees, senior executives, local media and other special guests attended the celebration.

Fittingly, the event was held at WindsorĄŻs Dieppe Gardens, the former location of the Dominion Typograph Company. There, in 1896, the Dodge brothers established their bicycle company, a precursor to FCAĄŻs modern-day Dodge vehicle brand.

The Chrysler Corporation of Canada Limited was incorporated in Windsor, Ontario, on June 17, 1925, only 11 days after Walter P. Chrysler founded the Chrysler Corporation in Detroit, Michigan. Chrysler Corporation of Canada was the successor to the former Maxwell-Chalmers Motor Company of Canada.

In 1928, the Company acquired CanadaĄŻs Dodge Bros. operations and truck manufacturer Graham Bros., while the Plymouth and DeSoto divisions were also established, making Chrysler Corp. a full-line Canadian auto manufacturer. A year later, it opened its first new assembly facility, the nucleus for the current Windsor Assembly Plant.

Today, FCA Canada is comprised of seven automotive brands: Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Jeep, Ram Truck and Mopar.

It operates two vehicle-manufacturing facilities in Windsor (Chrysler Town & Country, Dodge Grand Caravan) and Brampton, Ontario (Chrysler 300, Dodge Challenger, Dodge Charger), plus a key casting plant in Etobicoke in TorontoĄŻs west end. Nationally, the Company has three Regional Business Centres, three Parts Distribution Centres and the unique Automotive Research and Development Centre (ARDC), also in Windsor.
