Product Update Roof Molding Is Loose
BACKGROUND
In high winds, the roof molding may lift in the middle,
allowing either its front or rear retention clip to come
loose.

notification of this product update. An example of the
client notification is at the end of this service bulletin.
Do an iN VIN status inquiry to make sure the vehicle
is shown as eligible.
Some vehicles affected by this campaign may be in
your new or used vehicle inventory. These vehicles
must be repaired before they are sold.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Apply Konishi Bond adhesive to the front and rear
retaining pins on the body. If a roof molding is
damaged or missing, install a new one.

NOTE
Do not submit the Konishi Bond as a replacement part. Please submit under materials. Since one tube of Konishi Bond repairs six vehicles, the
cost of the material should equal 16 of the dealer net cost.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Apply protective tape to the body.
1. Using the appropriate trim tool, slide the roof molding rearward to release the front bracket from the pin and pull up on the front portion of the
molding.
2. Inspect the front bracket.
^ If the bracket comes off the roof molding or the molding is damaged, remove the molding and go to step 6 to install a new roof molding.
^ If the bracket is OK, go to step 4.
3. At the rear of the molding, pull up and release the rear bracket from the pin.
4. Inspect the rear bracket.
^ If the bracket comes off the roof molding or the molding is damaged, remove the molding and go to step 6 to install a new roof molding.
^ If the bracket is OK, go to step 6.
5. Clean the roof molding and the front and rear pins on the body using a shop towel dampened in water.

NOTE
Do not use any chemical cleaner as it may damage the paint.
6. Apply a 50 mm bead of Konishi Bond to the front and rear pins as shown until the pins on the body are completely covered.
7. Reinstall the old roof molding or install the new roof molding immediately after applying the Konishi Bond.

NOTE
The Konishi Bond adhesive can skin within seconds of exposure to air. Apply the roof molding immediately after applying the adhesive to
ensure proper adhesion
8. Repeat steps 1 thru 8 for the other roof molding.
