More than 500 customers attended a special event to celebrate the opening, where they had a tour of the premises. Ziebart said the reason to build a three-cylinder -- which would cost more than a four-cylinder -- is to reduce fuel consumption. Ziebart said the company is considering other engines for the plant, including a three-cylinder gasoline engine in the 1.5-liter range. A three-cylinder diesel is also possible, he said. Land Rover's classic diesel engines, while not overly powerful, are known to be very durable. And that has made Jaguar Land Rover's Solihull assembly plant in England a popular destination for manufacturing executives from Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Ford and others. Mark White, Jaguar Land Rover's chief technical specialist for aluminum, says automakers producing vehicles with aluminum -- Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, and soon Ford -- each use a slightly different manufacturing system that includes various grades of aluminum and different rivets, glue, robots and measuring systems. He said Jaguar Land Rover did not lose the capability to design engines as corporate parents changed over the years.
The opening of the new dealership cements Drayton Group’s association with Mercedes-Benz UK - it has been a franchised dealer partner with the manufacturer for over 40 years, has seven retail outlets in the Midlands and has represented the brand in Shrewsbury for 30 years. A new generation of Mercedes-Benz dealer has been revealed for the first time outside of Germany, with the opening of a newly-built retailer, Mercedes-Benz of Shrewsbury. My dealer is near the Ford plant, active on the forum, and goes under the name crewvanman. Industry analyst Emmanuel Rosner, of CLSA Americas, estimates that the aluminum F-150 will cost Ford at least $750 more per unit than the steel 2014 model. The optional Bi-Xenon headlamps cast a brighter, lighter, and more natural light than halogen headlamps, thus increasing visibility. The plan to do so involves moving to smaller, high-performing engines, transmissions with more than six speeds and lightweight bodies -- the same strategy adopted by BMW, Mercedes-Benz and other luxury brands.
The operating strategy of the hybrid drive system not only accounts for the current driving condition and driver input, but also adjusts to the likely route (inclines, downhill stretches, bends or speed limits) for the next five miles. Both Offroad modes alter the accelerator mapping, the transmission programming, and the steering, as do the other drive modes. Haptic accelerator pedal for superior vehicle control: A point of resistance on the accelerator pedal provides feedback about the activation of the combustion engine and helps in metering the power output. Upon depressing the brake pedal the deceleration is initially effected by the electric motor and not by the disc brakes. In addition, the combustion engine is switched off any time the vehicle is coasting and its drag torque when rolling is used by the electric motor as recuperation torque. It ensures an unnoticeable overlapping of the conventional mechanical brakes and the electric braking performance of the electric motor in alternator mode. AMG, Mercedes-Benz’s performance division, offers sportier versions of most of its mainstream cars as well as the bespoke AMG GT sports car-now available with four doors. It's the exact opposite of hush-hush corporate security: Jaguar Land Rover wants to share everything it knows about assembling aluminum-bodied cars.
Wolverhampton plant getting ready to produce new range of Jaguar Land Rover engines. For Jaguar Land Rover, the two new engines will mark the first time since the 1990s that each brand will manufacture an engine of its own design. The company is saying little about the character and design of the new engines. The KEYLESS-GO START function is standard, and the start/stop button comes in a new turbine-look design. Since the start of series production in 2012 more than 75,000 lithium-ion batteries have been delivered. Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) today reported the highest second quarter start in its history with record April sales of 26,157, a 4.4% increase over April 2012. Mercedes-Benz models alone saw a 5.8% gain in sales volume at 23,635 bringing year-to-date totals for the brand to 92,822. Combined with monthly sales from smart (667) and Sprinter Vans (1,855) MBUSA saw a year-to-date total of 101,371, a 10.2% increase over the previous year, making this April the earliest month ever to break 100,000 units. From 2017 all battery systems for Mercedes-Benz and smart will come from Deutsche ACCUMOTIVE. The goal is, for example, to use the energy content of the battery for propulsion ahead of a downhill stretch in order to recharge it while going downhill using recuperation.
