Volker Mornhinweg, Head Of Mercedes-Benz Vans

At the time of an inspection of records by an enforcement official, the driver may display the current and prior seven days RODS to the official on the device’s screen. About seven hours after leaving North Carolina, we finally arrive at Snowshoe. But 24 hours later I found myself in a truly remote, off-the-grid part of the world, faced with a route that was anything but pre-arranged. Even after you’ve found the perfect vehicle, Mercedes-Benz of Warwick is here for you every step of the way, offering service beyond compare with our factory-certified technicians and state-of-the-art service center. A large infotainment screen sits in the center of the dashboard with HVAC control below along with USB ports for charging devices and storage areas for supplies. On the V8 VIP, front and center for the driver is the largest TFT instrument panel ever offered in a Kia vehicle. On both panel van and crewbus with raised body, a step at the rear-end door affords easier access to the load compartment.

There’s the three-spoke, multifunction steering wheel, metallic trim, and a digital screen embedded in the instrument panel. There’s also Mercedes’ Pro Connect Services that allow for fleet managers and drivers to communicate effectively while also monitoring location and fuel level in nearly real time. And they have begun work on the production of workhorses that use fuel more efficiently and safely for everyone - the hybrid vans. 161 As of production month 10/2018, MY19 Metris models produced have a GVWR of 3,000 kg (6,614 lbs.) while MY19 Metris models produced prior have a GVWR of 3,050 kg (6,724 lbs.). The 2019 Sprinter will debut next month with production scheduled to start this Spring. Should Audi, BMW, Porsche and Mercedes start training their sales people to stress these differences, the damage to Tesla sales could be significant. West Virginia's roads would be a fantasy in a Porsche 911 Turbo, but the Sprinter is so tall that a tight set of S-turns makes you feel like you're on the top floor of a skyscraper during a 7.0 earthquake. The spruce trees are blanketed in white and the roads are awful-steep and slick.

The horn-shaped headlamps are a nice touch, positioned right up under the windshield and out of harm's way. At one point I put it in two-wheel drive to see what'll happen, and we barely make it out of the parking lot. They see the Sprinter and wonder if I'll stop to pick them up. The stiff, heavy-duty suspension sends bumps crashing through the structure, and you'll be lucky to see seventeen miles per gallon on the highway. En route to Snowshoe, I discover that the Sprinter is electronically governed to eighty-two miles per hour and practically governed to more like seventy-five when you're going uphill-its 3.0-liter diesel V-6 is willing, but 188 horsepower isn't exactly overkill for a machine the size of a Hong Kong condo. For more than 50 years Sportsmobile has been upgrading run-of-the-mill vans and turning them into outright adventure vehicles. They reveal only minor visual tweaks which makes sense as Mercedes is more focused on mechanical changes for the car’s update. As other Mercedes Benz reviews put it, this car is not simply about superficial qualities.

The backup camera is nine feet off the ground (I measured), which makes it look like you're watching drone footage every time you put the van in reverse. Upfitters like Winnebago and Airstream will be happy to turn your Sprinter into a rolling palace, but the standard van is a paragon of vinyl-floored industrial simplicity. My normal MO for a trip like this would be to hit the drive-through and keep everyone buckled in, but the high-roof Sprinter is incompatible with drive-throughs-the roof-mounted air-conditioning unit would get sheared straight off by any fast-food overhang. Be that as it may, it was Kurtz who had produced the castings for Daimler’s first internal-combustion engine two years earlier, and who now supplied the fire-fighting appliance with piston pump for which Daimler made an engine available - initially a one hp single-cylinder unit. Up until this year, our preference within the SL lineup was the base car, with its steel-spring suspension, supplemented by a variable damper system that adjusts with the Dynamic Select modes (now Eco, Comfort, Sport, Sport Plus, and Individual)-and, to some degree, to driving style and road conditions.
