Unlike computer evolution, there is a road map of sorts for the journey ahead for hybrid car and truck owners. Power is derived from a plug-in hybrid powertrain with a gasoline engine for a total output of 279 horsepower and 41 miles of electric range (the latter in aerodynamic mode). The run to 60 miles per hour takes a scant 3.9 seconds, according to M-B, aided in no small part by the car's 4Matic all-wheel-drive system and other assorted electronic brains deciding where, exactly, all those ponies should be sent. Though its V6 isn't quite as punchy, the C450 delivers strong acceleration off the line, with cleaner launches and less likelihood of lighting up the small yellow traction control icon, thanks to its all-wheel-drive setup. Powering the 300 SL Panamerica is a naturally aspirated, Mercedes-Benz sourced, 5.5-litre V8 which produces 370 Hp @ 5,400 rpm and 530 Nm of torque @ 5,400 rpm. The engine, which is also common to the GLE450 AMG Coupe, currently generates 362 horsepower and 384 pound-feet of torque. Its 243 pound-feet of torque sounds good, but it puts out only a paltry 154 horsepower. If you want to pick out the premium packet you will be getting a panorama sunroof, power liftgate, media upgrade packet, heated front seats, and memory settings for mirrors, steering wheel, and the drivers seat. But after spending some seat time in the C450 AMG Sport, there's a decent chance you'll be quite alright with that. We’re talking about the SLK, which will soon be rebranded an SLC as part of its mid-cycle update, an update that we’re expecting to include a new SLC450 AMG variant. Mercedes-Benz has just announced a 2016 SLK range, so we’ll be seeing the SLC arrive as a 2017 model. Right now it’s not clear what Mercedes’ plans are for the dedicated Mercedes-AMG version of the SLC. From its classic long-hood, short-deck proportions to the flowing, carved-out lines that connect them, the S63 AMG Coupe is a beautiful car. We're sure the S63 AMG Coupe will be the perfect choice for many would-be Goldilocks buyers. Mercedes claims to have removed 128 pounds from its big coupe in AMG guise. Crucially, the six-banger helps shed between 231 and 242 pounds compared the C63 models - this, despite a heavier all-wheel-drive arrangement, as opposed to the C63's rear-drive configuration. These two models of Mercedes Benz 4-door SUV, front engine and four-wheel drive. Clear giveaways include the sportier bumper up front with extended splitter; large, cross-drilled brakes; and quad-exhaust tips. As for exterior accessories, Schatz is known for its quality bumper grilles and spoilers.
We're not convinced that the extra exterior jewelry of the Edition 1, as seen in our image gallery above, makes the car prettier - Swarovski-bejeweled headlamps notwithstanding - but we have absolutely zero complaints about the Designo leather in a beautiful shade of red covering what we think are the most comfortable seats in the automotive kingdom. Top Speed will most likely remain capped at 155 mph. It also has a new touch-based operating surface that Mercedes claims will let drivers better concentrate on the road. We refer to this noise/feeling as "rumble strip noise" because it is similar to driving on rumble strips in the side of a road. Quiet is great, but those looking for a bit more noise from the engine will find it in Sport or Manual transmission modes, in which baffles in the exhaust open up for your aural enjoyment.
