The Automobile And American Life: July 2020

Other high-quality appointments: comfort headrests for the driver and front passenger, ambient lighting, roof liner in black designo fabric, velour floor mats with contrasting stitching and "Grand Edition" lettering, "Grand Edition" badge on the centre console, sports pedals in brushed stainless steel with rubber studs and door sill panels in stainless steel. Further highlights are provided by stylish yet functional ambient lighting, as well as chrome highlights on the frame and selector lever cover, seat adjustment controls and the loudspeakers in the front doors. Further contrasts are provided by running boards and the spare wheel cover with a 3D Mercedes-Benz star in stainless steel. They are accompanied by burr walnut wood trim, and the same, high-grade wood plus leather adorns the steering wheel and selector lever. Features reserved exclusively for the "Grand Edition" designation include special light-alloy wheels with 275/50 R 20 tyres, high-quality, two-tone leather seats in a new design, and wood trim in black ash. Highlights in the interior also include designo wood trim in black piano lacquer.

There are other visual highlights too, such as metallic paint finishes, heat-insulating and infrared-reflecting laminated glass all round, aluminium-look running boards with rubber studs, and separated exhaust tailpipe trim. At no extra cost, there is a choice of designo mystic white, palladium silver metallic, thulite red metallic and obsidian black metallic. The bumpers, AMG side flaps and exterior mirrors are always painted in obsidian black metallic. Light-alloy wheels in himalayas grey metallic - with a high-sheen finish also available as an option - add further exclusivity. Exclusive appointments include two-tone seats (black/porcelain or black/maroon) in leather (or in nappa leather as an option) with a special piping design and contrasting stitching. Their various models span all 3 Sprinter lengths, with or without bathrooms and exclusive floor plans to accommodate every need. The exclusive front end of the "Grand Edition" is unmistakeable: dark-tinted headlamps, a radiator grille with black, high-gloss louvres and a redesigned front bumper with integrated LED daytime running lamps define the special model.

Likewise only available on the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class "Grand Edition" are door centre panels, armrests and dashboard instrument panel with double-lapped felling, as well as trim and a wood/leather steering wheel in black ash. The steering wheel and selector lever are in a leather/piano lacquer combination with contrasting topstitching. The dashboard, armrest, door handles and parking brake lever are lined in black leather, with contrasting topstitching is some areas. The inner door panels are lined with gathered leather, and black designo velour floor mats with porcelain edging lend a cosy touch to the footwells. The already extensive standard equipment is supplemented with stainless steel door sill panels illuminated in white and bearing the lettering "Mercedes-Benz", as well as crash-responsive NECK-PRO luxury head restraints. Another eye-catching detail is the chrome luggage compartment sill panel with "Mercedes-Benz" lettering. The Chrome package is rounded off by a chrome luggage compartment sill protector with "Mercedes-Benz" lettering and a radiator grille with chrome inserts.

Ambient lighting and chrome trim in the area of the selector lever, the seat adjustment controls and the loudspeakers in the front doors underline the luxurious standard. Standard equipment also includes a convenience telephony system in the armrest, with a universal interface for various mobile phone cradles, extended telephone functions, a charging function and an external aerial for optimum reception. The Harman Kardon Logic7 surround sound system is among the finest available. Other eye-catching features include black-painted 18-inch light-alloy wheels in a 5-twin-spoke design with size 265/60 R 18 tyres, carbon-fibre look inserts in the protective strips, an underguard and an AMG sports exhaust system. There are disc brakes on all four wheels, and emergency stops are improved with the Anti-lock braking system (ABS) and Brake Assist System (BAS), standard on the Mercedes Benz A-Class. The mercedes benz e class is a range of executive cars manufactured by german automaker mercedes benz in various engine and body configurations. The AMG GLE 43 is also available in a four-door coupe body style, which has less cargo space and a more cramped rear seat but is otherwise the same. The maximum storage capacity is in the Sprinter 3500 cargo van when specified with the highest roof, longest wheelbase and longest body.
