How To Transform Your Cargo Van Into Mobile Office?

Since we are in the minivan town, you won't get the agile handling experience so don't set your hopes high. Mercedes-Benz Metris Forum Since 2015 Welcome to Metris Forum, where you can talk about the Mercedes Benz Minivan and check out the various campervan conversion kits, and discuss Mercedes Metris reliability. The turbocharged engine shows its magic and the linear power delivery brings out the best of these 208 horses. The Turbocharged 2.0L Inline-4 earns the Metris an edge over other minivans in the segment. Mercedes boast a class leading power with its Turbocharged 2.0L Inline-4 engine mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission. It doesn’t sound like much, but we found this engine and its 7-speed automatic transmission plenty worthy to power this van. The models with the 7G-TRONIC automatic transmission are fitted with the DIRECT SELECT lever in ergonomically convenient position on the steering column tube. Fuel economy ranges from 6.8l/100km in the most efficient 4-cylinder, through to a thirstier 9.7l/100km for the larger models. A 93-litre fuel tank is fitted as standard. There are two trims levels, the Worker Passenger and the Passenger van.

The only engine available for the 2017 Mercedes Metris van is a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine that makes 208 horsepower and a healthy 258 lb-ft of torque. Where other minivans won't dare cross the 200 horsepower mark but the Mercedes went all and broke all rationality with its 208 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. This van was curated keeping Passengers in mind but Mercedes kept the driver in their mind too. The Metris can be upgraded in a number of ways, notably with lane keep assist, cruise control, driver comfort seats, and interior lighting options. The Mercedes-Benz CLS has a stunning interior that mixes modern aesthetics and minimalism with the brand’s more traditional styling. Plus the Master Solutions program lets you customize the interior with rows of locking boxes for tools, racks for hardware and replacement parts, or even replace the entire back of the van with a giant refrigerator.

One poor passenger thought retreating to the back row so she wouldn’t be bothered was a good decision, but regretted it from the moment we hit a bump on the highway that sent her airborne. The second row of seating gives you some people-moving capability, but not enough to make this into a bus. Passenger vans can opt for 8-passenger seating with a 2nd-row bench, and for dual power sliding doors as well. In Passenger Van format, there’s a variety of seating options for up to eight passengers and a host of safety features - one of the Metris’ biggest selling points for Mercedes-Benz. There’s also automatic climate control and idle-stop on the options list. Unlike the bigger Sprinter, there’s no available diesel, nor is all-wheel drive available. Thus Mercedes is offering a four-wheel drive system as an option. However, the Metris is possibly the most fun to drive minivan in the market today.

Mercedes launched the Metris to add something exotic to the minivan market. From a standstill the Metris zooms to 60 mph in 7.9 second which is more than enough for a minivan. The top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph. Despite the larger 5.6 liter engine of the 560 SL, the 500 SL is recorded as being the fastest production 107 produced (mostly because of the lack of emission restraints) The 500 SL was published by Mercedes-Benz as having 0-60 mph times of 7.4 seconds for a top speed of 225 km/h (140 mph). The C 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY station wagon was among the winners in the midrange segment, the S 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY was one of the top three in the luxury segment, and the GLK 350 CDI as well as the ML 350 CDI were among the top SUVs. Despite the higher power output the Metris falls short of the Ford Transit Wagon which can generate far better power than Merc and is equipped with a much powerful engine. Options can add up, and if you go for a fully loaded passenger van you can see yourself writing a check for around $45,000, and that’s before any third-party upfitters get to it.
