The GLS450’s new transmission is dubbed 9G-Tronic. Its first seven gears sport shorter ratios than all seven speeds in the old transmission. Lower gears are feverishly held, even at a steady cruise, and first gear is used when accelerating from a stop (second is used in Comfort mode in the interest of smoothness). Truly, seven speeds are more than enough; the awesome, responsive seven-speed AMG transmission arguably does a better job in most respects than the nine-speed in the mainline models-and it allows full manual control, holding the selected gear even with the accelerator mashed to the floor. The two extra gears, both of which are taller than seventh gear in the old transmission, are responsible for nudging the GLS450’s EPA highway fuel-economy estimate northward by 1 mpg, to 22 mpg. Really, though, the only dynamics that matter are the GLS450’s highway manners. The rest of the big Benz’s dynamic qualities are to be expected, with the steering tracking well on the highway but otherwise being numb and with slow, vague responses to driver inputs. In both, the steering was very light/non-resistant which, in tandem with the high seats and big glasshouse, made it a cinch to drive in urban surrounds.
Although there are two analog gauges set atop the steering column, they’re dwarfed by the digital display screen that runs the full width of the dash and even onto the door panels. Continuing the wraparound theme, the seat bottoms extend up into the door panels and the center console. Rather than carpet, the floor is covered in open-pore elm wood, which continues up onto the lower door panels, for what Mercedes characterizes as “a refined yachting look.” Metal accents are rose gold. Whichever body style you choose, there are two options when it comes to permitted gross vehicle weight, 2,770kg or 2,940kg. The wide sliding doors enable forklift loading from both sides and so that your precious cargo doesn’t move in transit, anchor points are integrated into the completely level floor. There are a lot of elaborate moving components to a Sprinter engine, and also major issues can occur if these typically aren’t in appropriate working order.
Technology was used in order for this calculator to level up a notch higher that in the end it turned out to be the first computer. A $1290 Parking Assist package (a self-parking system and a surround-view camera) and the rather droll combination of Iridium Silver paint ($720) and dark Anthracite Poplar wood trim ($160) that barely stood out in the all-black M-B Tex pseudo-leather cabin brought the total to $78,550. Obviously, the Sprinter’s personality isn’t for everyone, and its height precludes it from almost every parking garage-your house included. So the idea of a Maybach as an ultraluxury two-door isn’t entirely original. A Mercedes insider characterized the car as a “pie in the sky” concept-but one that indicates future thinking about Maybach. No Problem. Not all rental vehicles are created equal; when just any old van won’t do, you’ll want to look for the top-of-the-line luxury brands you love. This is based on the trailblazing F-CELL PLUG-IN HYBRID of the F 015 Luxury in Motion and combines the on-board generation of electricity with a particularly powerful and compact high-voltage battery that can be charged contactlessly via induction. A simple accident can mutate into a big lawsuit which can bring your business to its knees. Similarly, the price can vary widely, from £20,000 to £47,000 for larger models with all the bells and whistles. All we can say is, at an event where one is surrounded by high-classic Mercedes-Benz models such as the SSK from the 1920s and 1930s and the Gullwing from the 1950s, it’s great to see a new car with the three-pointed star that is just as faint-dead-away beautiful as any that have gone before. Brand new, you can get this one for six million pesos until a price drop in 2015 which slashed the price to P4,500,000. Mine is also a wagon passenger van with a backseat like the one you linked to. With an overall length of 274.1 inches, a wheelbase of 170.3 inches, a height of 110.0 inches, and a width of 95.5 inches, the Sprinter Passenger Van is effectively a 23-foot bus with a 14-foot wheelbase.
