The EGR oil hose geometry is out of specification. Garages are instructed to replace the EGR oil hose between the EGR valve and the oil filter housing. As a result, garages are being required to rework the mounting surface to ensure a proper contact to the upper transverse control arm. Garages are advised to replace any bolts, nuts or washers that may have already become detached, and re-torque the propshaft retaining bolts. There is a possibility that insufficient torque was applied to the retaining bolts of the propshaft. The Sprinter has one engine option, a 188-hp, turbocharged 3.0-liter diesel V-6 that makes 325 pounds-feet of torque. Recall 5: the tightening torque set to the threaded connection between the ball joint and knuckle may decrease over time. As a result, the lower arm ball joint may be damaged and become insecure.
